Situated at the highest point of Richmond Park, Pembroke Lodge is an impressive grade II listed Georgian Mansion which is set within London’s largest Royal Park. The venue is surrounded by 11 acres of stunning landscaped grounds with incredible views over the west of the Thames Valley.
Richmond Park has over 2300 acres of magnificent natural rugged parkland which is home to over 600 majestic deer that roam freely amongst the dog walkers, cyclists and joggers who regularly visit the park. It’s the perfect escape from the busy London streets which surround it.
As you enter the Lodge from Richmond Park through tall iron gates, there is a long pathway to the venue with lush lawns and an abundance of flowers either side. The main entrance has dramatic white Georgian pillars, which is great for photographing the newlyweds together after their ceremony.
There are two areas for weddings at Pembroke Lodge for larger weddings there is The Belvedere which holds up to 140 seated guests, for smaller more intimate weddings The Russell Suite holds up to 70 guests. Both rooms are equally beautiful with plenty of natural light. The rooms have access to outside terraces that give the option to have outdoor wedding ceremonies, followed by an alfresco champagne reception in the warmer months. The Belvedere terrace has spectacular views across Richmond Park and beyond.
While your family and friends catch up, enjoying the views over a glass of champagne, I will photograph your couple’s portraits within the gardens, even venturing into the park amongst the deer. There is a view from King Henry’s mound that is located within the gardens, this view is the only view in London that is protected by an Act of Parliament.
Photographing Pembroke Lodge Weddings
I’ve had the pleasure of photography many weddings at Pembroke Lodge and Richmond, scroll down to see a selection of images that I’ve photographed. The first is Mia and Yichen’s intimate wedding day which I photographed in August 2023.
Mia and Yichen began their day getting ready at The Petersham Hotel in Richmond, Mia and her mother were then collected and taken to Pembroke Lodge in a carriage pulled by two stunning grey horses and two coach-woman from Layer Marney Horse Drawn Carriages.I had the pleasure of working videographer Arash from Emotionss films who was filming the day.
“It’s been amazing to have Charlotte being the photographer for our wedding. She’s so nice to have consultantion twice with me before the wedding. On the day, she’s flexible to the arrange the photo shooting as the horse carriage came later than expected. I really like the photos of the wedding. My parents especially speak highly of her, even if they don’t understand English well. But they do see her profession, her working attitude, her patience and always have a smile on her face. Thank you so much.”

Juliann and James got married at Pembroke Lodge in Richmond Park in London on a hot summer day in August 2022.
The couple both got ready separately at The Richmond Hill Hotel with their groomsmen, bridesmaids and families. Juliann and her bridal party had their hair and makeup done by Cat Parnell. The wedding bouquets were delivered to the bridal suite by Johanna Pedrick, they were put in the bath to keep them safe and cool until the wedding ceremony. Once everyone was ready we all headed to Pembroke Lodge for Juliann and James’s wedding ceremony and reception, the whole venue was dressed inside and out with the most exquisite floral displays by the incredibly talented Johanna Pedrick. The centrepiece of the reception room was the couple’s magnificent wedding cake by Made By Adele
Juliann and James’s wedding ceremony took place outside in the beautiful summer sunshine. Juliann was walked down the aisle by her mother and father who had flown in from America along with the rest of her family. The couple both read their emotional and moving vows to each other in front of their family and friends.
After the wedding ceremony, I photographed a group shot of everyone together from the upstairs window, then photographed some group photographs in the stunning gardens.
The champagne reception was held on the terrace with incredible views across the Thames Valley, an acoustic guitarist played the newlyweds favourite songs in the background. The wedding breakfast was held in The Belvedere where the couple dined with their loved ones, cut their wedding cake and made their emotional speeches.
Everyone then went back out to the terrace for more drinks while The Belvedere was prepared for the evening. Juliann, James and their guests then returned for the newlyweds first dance, and continued to dance the night away together.
