You get married in a boutique hotel in the Surrey Hills….
There’s lawn games and Pimms in the beautiful gardens; dream-like statues, and peacocks roaming free. You step inside to a jungle of tropical plants. There’s a spa to unwind, a breathtaking ceremony space, and a dancefloor just begging to be filled. It’s peaceful, and romantic, and utterly idyllic. This is your wedding in Guildford Manor.
Ria and Michael had their wedding there in autumn. And oh my, it was exquisite.
The watercolour stationery, the vibrant florals, the epic cake, the infinite attention to detail. And their palette? A considered blend of toffee, white, and blue.
If you’re dreaming of a wedding in Guildford Manor, come take a little look. This is all the inspiration you could ever need.

A wedding morning in Guildford Manor
Our day began in the oh-so-photogenic rooms of Guildford Manor wedding venue.
Ria and her girls relaxed in the beautiful space, sipping champagne, and telling stories. Natural light poured through the huge glass doors. And from the balcony, the lush-green grounds of the venue stretched into the distance.
Ria looked stunning in her flowing silk wedding gown from Wed2b. She completed her look with natural makeup, a twisted bun, and a memorial-charm bouquet white, blue and toffee roses.
We had love notes, and presents, and “wait, wait, my mascara!” tears. And after an emotional first-look with her dad, we took the staircase down to the ceremony.

A few doors down, the boys were getting ready too.
There were hip flasks, and cufflinks; love notes, and whisky. Hugs with the guests, a stroll through the grounds, and a few swift pints to calm their nerves!
And with the ceremony calling, we headed inside to their wedding in Guildford Manor.

All you need is love (and florals)
Ria and Michael said their vows in the Bloomsbury Suite- a gorgeously-modern indoor space, suitable for up to 100 guests.*
Delicate trios of blue, white, and toffee roses lined the aisle. And behind the altar- an explosion of colour. Floral meadows spilled across the floor, arrangements sat on the table, and clouds of roses and dahlias burst from the golden arch. It’s a stunning space as it is, and those florals took it to a whole new level!
And the ceremony itself was just as beautiful.
Ria walked down the aisle to the incredible wedding singer Chelsey Johnson. And from the moment she reached Michael, they never once stopped holding hands!
They had personal vows, and a heartfelt, personal service. And as the celebrant made it official, a huge cheer filled the ballroom. And Ria and Michael walked back down the aisle as husband and wife.
*(There is an outdoor ceremony option at Guildford Manor wedding venue- the wisteria-covered wedding pavilion, but the weather that day was…unpredictable!)

Confetti and heart-shaped groups
A little while later, we were gathered outside by the wedding pavilion.
Ria and Michael skipped, laughed, and kissed their way down the confetti line. And just as the confetti settled, the rain began to fall.
We dashed inside for Pimms and canapes. And then- just as quickly as it came- the rain cleared, and the grounds of Guildford Manor were bathed in September sun.
And honestly? It was SUCH a fun afternoon!
They had mini golf, wedding cornhole, giant Jenga, and giant Connect Four. The guests chatted away in the sunshine, playing games, having nibbles, and drinking Pimms. And R&M were free to just enjoy it. Catch up with their people, and relax into the day.
We had a heart-shaped group photo on the lawn (which I captured from the balcony). And while the guests were mini-golfing the day away, I took Ria and Michael for a stroll around the grounds…

Wedding photography in Guildford Manor gardens
The Guildford Manor grounds are a photographer’s dream! The surreal statues, the hidden pathways, and ivy-covered walls; the colours, the quiet, the wisteria-heavy gazebo.
It’s peaceful, and secluded, and just achingly romantic. And as a wedding photographer, it’s an absolute playground!
R&M walked hand-in-hand through those beautiful gardens. Catching up on their day- kissing, cuddling, sharing their first few moments alone as a married couple.
And as the smell of tasty food carried over to us through the gardens, we headed inside for their reception…

Styling inspiration for your wedding in Guildford Manor
The reception was genuinely stunning. R&M had just poured love into their day. And you could feel it from the moment you walked in the room.
Roses and dahlias sat in simple glass vases on the tables. They had personalised carvings for the place settings, and little jars of mints as favours (on-palette, of course!)
They had elegant watercolour stationery, a gorgeous wedding postbox, and loveheart sunnies for later. And the cake! Oh my goodness, the cake! Four beautiful tiers, in four incredible tasty flavours!
Everywhere you looked, there was something colourful, something beautiful, something personal. They really had thought of everything!
We had speeches before the food (always a good idea, especially if people are nervous!) And with the bottles emptied, and our food settled, I snuck R&M away to enjoy the sunset in the garden.

Those few stolen moments
You don’t get many moments alone on your wedding day. So when you get the chance, enjoy them. Live in them. Steal yourselves away, and soak those moments in.
Ria and Michael explored the grounds, played a little golf, and had a little chat. The chatter of their guests murmured from inside the venue. Peacocks cried in the distance, saying goodnight to the sun.
Dusk slowly settled in around us. And as night finally fell, we headed inside for the party.

Shoes to dance, and a sword to cut
The evening unravelled in the best possible way!
First came the cake-cutting. Not with a knife, though. Oh no. An actual real life sword!
Then came R&M’s dancing shoes- matching Nikes, with an on-palette blue tick! There was fancy dress, flowing drinks, and a heaving ballroom. The DJ brought all kinds of infectious energy; the guests brought all kinds of crazy dance moves!
It was wild, and hilarious, and wonderfully chaotic. And just the perfect way to end *the most* incredible day.
