Great Fosters is the perfect venue for a wedding, set in Egham in Surrey its majestic Grade I listed 16th Century building is steeped in over four centuries of fascinating history. I’m always completely spoilt for choice on places to photograph the newlyweds in the exquisite grounds, from the Japanese bridge to the beautifully landscaped maze made from hedges, there is also a fountain, a lake and Saxon moat which all makes an incredible backdrop for wedding photographs.
The Great Fosters wedding ceremony is held in the bright and modern orangery where beautiful natural light pours in through the huge arched windows. The orangery overlooks the impressive Magnolia lawns which are used for the champagne reception during the warmer months. When set up for a larger wedding ceremony the long aisle is perfect for capturing plenty of photographs of the bride walking to her groom, and then lots more photos of the newlyweds leaving together as husband and wife, as their guests shower them with confetti.
The wedding breakfast is held in the impressive Tithe Barn which is dominated by huge dramatic vaulted oak beams. There is also an open fire for the colder months. The Barn can seat 160 people on ten round tables, which is turned into the evening reception for the first dance and party, which goes on until late into the night.
