Gorse Hill is a magnificent Edwardian mansion located in Old Woking, Surrey. Built in 1912 this stunning venue is surrounded by 17 acres of beautiful Surrey countryside, making it a magical setting for a wedding day.
The venue is licensed for civil ceremonies, during the week in the Mansion House for smaller more intimate weddings, and in the Garden Suite Ballroom at weekends for larger weddings. There is also the option to have the an outdoor wedding ceremony during the warmer seasons.
After the wedding ceremony the newlyweds and their guests can enjoy an alfresco champagne reception on the lush lawns, set within the perfectly manicured gardens, which make the perfect backdrop for all of the wedding photographs throughout the day.
I had the pleasure of photographing Natalie and Jonny’s incredible Spring wedding at Gorse Hill in April. Natalie got ready at home with her family and bridesmaids before heading to the families local church, St John’s Church in Woking for the couple’s beautiful wedding ceremony, it was then onto Gorse Hill for the newlyweds champagne reception, wedding breakfast and evening reception. It was a magical day from beginning to end and I loved capturing every moment.
I also photographed Natalie and Jonny’s engagement session a few weeks before their wedding day around the grounds of Gorse Hill, I have attached a small selection of images below, after the wedding day images.
I have had the privilege to photograph so many wonderful weddings in and around Surrey, this has given me plenty of knowledge and experience with photographing so many incredible venues and locations. Surrey has so much to offer with its beautiful countryside, rolling hills and valleys, wonderful woodland, vibrant bustling towns and quintessential English villages. The Surrey Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty is everything you could wish for, making it an idyllic setting for an English country wedding.
If you are getting married at Gorse Hill, I would love to hear from you and discuss your wedding photography plans and ideas, please get in touch with me.

Engagement photography session
Here are some images I photographed of Natalie and Jonny’s engagement session at Gorse Hill a few weeks before their wedding. It was really lovely getting to know them better in the run up to their wedding. We also walked around the wedding venue together and discussed their wedding day plans and ideas for the day. After the photography session the couple told me that the session really put them at ease and helped them feel more relaxed for their wedding day, they also used some of their engagement photographs on their wedding day church order of service booklet.
